Oh, how I wish I had discovered Redemption Accomplished and Applied early on in my ministry. Originally published in 1955, it is a classic within the world of Reformed theology. While this book is a great ready for everyone, it’s particularly helpful for those trying to wrap their minds around the doctrines of atonement and salvation.

The book is divided into two unequal halves – The first section is titled Redemption Accomplished, and it deals with the necessity and nature of Christ’s atonement. The second, longer section is Redemption Applied. It goes through the ordo salutis (order of salvation). It ends with a chapter on union with Christ, which, in my opinion, is worth buying the book.

It’s a short book. It’s fairly easy to read. But, it goes way beyond a surface level understanding of atonement and salvation. So, dig in and enjoy the ride!
